For 45 years, Asbestovoye GRP LLP has been conducting geological exploration work within Kazakhstan and adjacent regions of the Russian Federation. The company’s specialists have studied numerous deposits of various minerals: asbestos – Zhitikara (Dzhetygarinskoye) and Kiembay, gold – Komarovskoye, Elevatornoye, Tokhtarovskoye, Yuzhno-Leonidovskoye and Akkarginskoye, Naimanzhal, Beschoku, Koskuduk; copper – Benkala, Yuzhno-Benkala, Klochkovskoe; cobalt-nickel – Milyutinskoe; chromites – South Kempirsayskoe; titanium and rare earths – Kundybayskoe; manganese – Chuuldak and Bakai; jade – Dzhetygarinskoe, iron – Saryobinskoe and Daulkolskoe; bauxite – Krasnooktyabrskoye; kaolins – Polygonnoye, Bisembaevskoye and Ushkotinskoye, building stone – Dzhety-Kara, groundwater – Shortandinskoye and many, many other deposits.

The industrial development of almost all fields in the Zhitikarinsky district, one way or another, began with the work of Asbestovoye GRP LLP. JSC “Kostanay Minerals”, which is a city-forming enterprise, has been provided with a reliable raw material base of chrysotile asbestos for more than half a century – the flanks and deep horizons of the deposit have been studied, reserves have been repeatedly revalued in accordance with the changed conditions for asbestos on the world market, and operational exploration is underway.

The large role of the enterprise’s specialists in preparing for the industrial development of many gold deposits not only in the Zhitikarinsky district, but in the entire region. They have studied and assessed the reserves so far of the Kundybay yttrium and rare earth deposits, the only one of its kind in Kazakhstan, the Dzhetygarinsky jade deposit, etc.

There have been ups and downs in the life of the company. During the Soviet period, it always fulfilled and exceeded the state plan and geological tasks, repeatedly became the winner of socialist competitions, and received a challenge red banner.

Like many enterprises in the industry, the nineties of the last century were a difficult test. The lack of need for geological exploration work, which is, in fact, an investment for the future, has led to staff turnover and a decrease in technical potential. Many of them simply ceased to exist. A change in the form of ownership in September 1996 gave Asbestovoye GRP LLP a second birth. The enterprise began to introduce modern technologies for conducting geological exploration work, the geography and areas of work expanded, which allowed Asbestovoye GRP LLP to survive and become one of the successful ones in its industry. The use of modern equipment, tools and technology in the process of drilling operations, computer technologies in geological servicing of projects allows us to look confidently into the future.

Asbestovoye GRP LLP also performs survey work. The company’s specialists carried out numerous engineering and geological surveys, carried out topographic and geodetic surveys to develop design estimates for the construction of buildings, structures, roads and railways, water supply communications, gas pipelines in the Zhitikarinsky, Kamystinsky and Denisovsky districts. Many settlements in the region, including the city of Zhitikara, are provided with drinking water from wells drilled by specialists from Asbestovoye GRP LLP.

In the multinational team of the enterprise, representatives of different professions worked and work, who combine their efforts to explore underground riches and proudly called and call themselves geologists. Geological exploration work was carried out in any area and under any weather conditions, since geologists understand that the future of the region and country depends on the results of their work. From the moment of its creation until 1982, the enterprise was led by Repin A.P., from August 1982 to the present, Jafarov N.N., the executive director is Maidakov S.V.. The main geologists of the enterprise over the years were Glukhov R.G. ., Jafarov N.N., Khramova G.V. and Kaskevich T.M.

Maidakov S.V. and Kaskevich T.M. for merits in the study of the country’s subsoil, they were awarded the honorary title “Excellence in Subsoil Exploration of the Republic of Kazakhstan”, several employees of the enterprise were awarded “Honorary Driller” badges by the Association of Industrial Geological Exploration Organizations of Kazakhstan for their impeccable work (Zenkov N.A., Belyaev V.A., Afanasyev A. .V., Malyavin V.V., Zhakupov K.S., Statsenko V.V., Shcherbakov I.I., etc.), “Honorary Geologist” (Kaskevich T.M., Otlygina V.A.), industry medal for fidelity to the profession (Stishenko S.B., Dudina V.M., Maidakov S.V., Kaskevich T.M., Surin S.V., Malyavin V.V., Zhakupov K.S. Jafarov N (Jr.) etc.).
